The West Mill, Derby

The West Mill Wedding Venue is hidden away just outside the city of Derby. It's an old mill, converted exclusively for weddings. It features four stunning floors and retains a lot of the features of the original building.

That ceremony room though

The West Mill's ceremony room is on the top floor and it's just incredible. With windows all around, the light is always gorgeous, and makes for great night photos too! There's also a grand piano in the corner which is amazing if you have a musician playing you in and down the aisle.

Getting ready at The West Mill Wedding Venue

The suite for getting ready at The West Mill Wedding Venue is one of my favourite rooms. It ticks all the right boxes for a photographer. The stunning features of the mill, a large wall-to-wall mirror with lighting from a huge window on one side! It's also upstairs just off from the ceremony room and is just amazing! Check out more of Kristina and Tom's stunning winter wedding at this beautiful venue. The West Mill loved it so much, they even blogged about it themselves.

The grounds at the West Mill

The mill is built next to a weir and has the most amazing sunsets. The grounds are ample with a mix of trees, the stunning weir and a huge courtyard which is perfect for group formals.

If nothing else, the sunsets here are absolutely stunning. But it isn't just that. The grounds are different enough that it lends itself to great variety, and the building itself is so unique that you can create stunning indoor shots too.

The food is so good!

The West Mill has a dedicated floor just for the wedding breakfast and wow is the food good! The staff are so nice and very attentive too. It also has such a great feel that really lends itself to awesome speeches.
