I love being a Hazel Gap Barn Wedding Photographer. Photographing weddings here is an absolute joy. Tucked away just outside Budby in north Nottinghamshire, Hazel Gap Barn is such a stunning venue. As relaxed as you're likely to find, everything runs like clockwork and the staff are faultless and so friendly. The striking red brick Barn and Farmhouse stand out alone on the edge of the Welbeck Estate,

Owned by Cripps & Co, the food and staff were excellent, Hazel Gap Barn is a gem in their portfolio of amazing wedding venues and a real triumph for them.

I've photographed many weddings at Hazel Gap and just love how the day flows so naturally.

From the moment you drive through the gates and see the place for yourself, it's understandable why it's one of Nottinghamshire's most sort after wedding venues. This rustic barn that's still got all the best bits lends itself to both large and intimate weddings!

That Hazel Gap Magic

The stunning ceremony room

You enter Hazel gap through the main ceremony room. It is cosy, intimate and beautiful.

At the top of the room, off to the right, candles line the wall above the fireplace in little slots.

This is where the couples get married. Facing away from the fireplace, you can't miss the dramatic light that cuts through the barn. I love the look this gives for photographs coming up and down the aisle. It's such a beautiful feature.

The courtyard and surrounding grounds

There is a lot of space surrounding Hazel gap. A large courtyard connects the rest of the venue, while the sweeping driveway and spacious rear garden add to the incredible space. There's even a woodland at the back. Just so many options for great photographs.

It's deceptively large inside too, having photographed there in the rain. The new Oak room, which connects the Main barn and farmhouse, gives you enough space for a large wedding just in case it's too wet out. This also houses the main bar and the wedding breakfast area.

Portraits at Hazel Gap Barn

I love Hazel gap for couples portraits, there is sooo much space to roam and spend a little bit of intimate time together while your guests enjoy themselves. I love to photograph silhouettes here against the stunning architecture, sprawling sunsets or even with off-camera flash against the stunning fireplace in the main barn.

The surrounding forest also adds a different dimension and gives us wedding photographers a lot of options.

The famous Cripps & Co wedding breakfast

Hazel Gap Barn earns a lot of it's success to the people behind it. Cripps & Co run a few wedding venues around the area and they have become famous for their stunning venues and their incredible food. Hazel gap continues this tradition.

The purpose build extension opens up to the back garden is perfect for housing a large wedding breakfast and great for speeches too.
