Hayley and Henry’s winter wedding was just stunning. Early winter can often be bleak, but there are days when the weather holds onto the last bits of Autumn. The leaves range from dark greens, bright oranges and reds to stunning yellows. The sun lights these days as best it can and keeps us as warm as possible.
Hayley and Henry’s winter wedding at Hazel Gap Barn.
Hazel Gap Barn is a beautiful venue for a winter wedding.
You enter Hazel Gap Barn through the main ceremony room. It is both cosy and intimate whilst also being stunningly grand. At the top of the room, off to the right, candles are line the wall above the fireplace in little slots.
This is where the couples get married. Facing away from the fireplace, you can’t miss the dramatic light that cuts through the barn.
Hayley & Henry found me through Henry’s sister, Felicity. Felicity & Tom got married at Sutton Bonnington Hall. It was great to see them both again and catch up with the family.
I had Pete Henderson with me this hazel gap winter wedding and it was great to be able to get all the angles of this stunning venue.
Hayley got ready in a small room at the back of the main barn, it was so relaxed. The emotions came thick and fast when her Dad saw her for the first time.
The ceremony was stunning, just look at that light! It’s really a massive honour to be a witness to people saying “I do” to each other. I swear I’m getting softer and I never see it as just part of the job!
The amazing couple – Hayley & Henry’s winter wedding at Hazel Gap Barn.
What can I say about Hayley and Henry; I found they had the same genuine connection that I saw in Felicity and Tim.
It was such an honour to be a part of their relaxed wedding. With such a lovely mix of close family and friends, it was such a pleasure to be to capture the story of their amazing day.
Hayley & Henry had not long had a new addition to their family, someone who was absolutely amazing on the day. I can’t wait for her to be able to look back over the day and see her involvement in such a landmark date for her family.
The confetti shots were hilarious. Hayley was set upon by her flower girl quite early on!
Hayley looks absolutely stunning in her dress from wed2be and shawl from Frances Day bridal.
Henry was as chilled as they come, and looked dapper in his Hugo Boss suit! It’s fair to say that my relaxed approach put him at ease.
The Kindest Words
“Dan photographed my sister in laws wedding last year so luckily for me, I knew straight away who I wanted to capture our day! Dan, you were professional, discreet and so much fun and we honestly can’t recommend you highly enough to people. You listened to exactly what we wanted to get from our photos and always replied quickly to any last minute panic questions I had to keep me at ease. We are so glad that we shared our day with you & are so looking forward to seeing the rest of our photos so we can relive it all again! Thank you a million! ”Hayley & Henry
The Wedding Breakfast
Owned by Cripps & Co, the food and staff were excellent, Hazel Gap Barn is a real triumph for them.
The speeches after the wedding breakfast were on point, hilarious and heart-warming. I genuinely love capturing these moments for my couples.
The staff worked hard during the wedding breakfast, to clear out the main barn for the evening party. There was a shot to be had with that stunning fireplace wall.
Before the first dance we were out in the courtyard for some relaxed sparkler shots.
The night ended for me on the dance floor and it was awesome! Hayley & Henry started things off with their first dance. It wasn’t long before others got involved.
I always love being able to focus on as many couples dancing as I can at this stage! Sam Franklin did a great job as the DJ and even added some smoke to the room which looked great!
I can’t thank Hayley, Henry and their wonderful family and friends enough. They showed genuine hospitality and kindness throughout the day. It was such an honour to have shared their big day with them.
Hayley and Henry chose some absolutely wonderful suppliers for their wedding. It was great to be able to be able to work with such talent!
